Tanya Hutchens

Gaining years of experience, education, and training in the field of law, Tanya Hutchens became the first female in Ontario to receive certification as a Paralegal Litigator and Expert in Paralegal Representation from the Canadian Paralegal Association. Tanya Hutchens rose to President of Gold Star Legal Services as a Paralegal, and began to take on cases regarding housing issues. Throughout her professional career with the company, Tanya Hutchens prepared materials for thousands of tenant and landlord trials and claims court matters. Tanya Hutchens represented both tenants and landlords in different matters, giving her a unique perspective of each side. A crucial part of 12 rulings in the Ontario Court of Justice, Tanya Hutchens took on a leadership role during Landlord and Tenant Board cases. Tanya Hutchens also appeared before the Divisional Court on behalf of her tenant clients on several dispute matters.

While with her legal services company, Tanya Hutchens gained authorization for conducting oaths and swearing affidavits in Ontario. Today, Tanya Hutchens supports initiatives that give paralegals licenses in Ontario. As a member of The Paralegal Association of Canada, Tanya Hutchens assists individuals following in her footsteps by weighing in on matters concerning the Cory Commission. Additionally, Tanya Hutchens keeps up on all issues of the association that trained her.

Apart from her professional work, Tanya Hutchens dedicates her efforts to several charitable causes. Tanya Hutchens regularly assists the Canadian Cancer Society, the SPCA of Ontario, MS Society of Canada, and the Terry Fox Foundation, which was founded on behalf of the cancer research crusader of the same name. In order to give others the chance at a healthy, abuse-free life, Tanya Hutchens donates to Renascent, a drug and alcohol addition treatment center. Tanya Hutchens also promotes women's empowerment and protection by teaching self-defense courses.
